CANADIAN SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP ON LITERACY

CSIG-L acts as a forum for communicating and discussing issues affecting literacy in Canada. It develops systems for disseminating information regarding literacy issues, theory, research and practice. As a Special Interest Group we are also alloted time during the International Reading Association's Annual Conventions to promote and support Canadian literacy through a presentation style format. Membership to CSIG-L helps determine the amount of time we are given during these conventions.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership to CSIG-L helps ensure that the Canadian SIG on Literacy has time during the IRA Annual Convention to support Canadian interests in Literacy. Membership also ensures access to a newsletter and information on CSIG-L activities. There is also a small membership fee of $10 to help support the publication of the newsletter. Please send cheques to the address above.

It is not necessary to be a member of the IRA to join, however it is recommended.
